Original 1227 Desk Lamp
[George Carwardine]
Description
The Anglepoise Original 1227 Desk Lamp is a particularly flexible table lamp thanks to tension spring technology. Its lamp arms are individually adjustable by constant tension spring technology, whereby the light distribution can be precisely adjusted again and again. The lamp shade can be tilted and rotated. Due to the tension spring technology, the lamp arms and shade remain in any set position.
The Original 1227 Desk Lamp was launched by Anglepoise in 1935 and has retained its iconic design to this day. British industrial designer George Carwardine developed tension spring technology for this table lamp, which is still in use today. The lamp arms and lamp shade are made of aluminum, the lamp base of cast iron with a steel cover. The desk lamp is available in the surfaces jet black, linen white, dove grey, sage green and bright chrome. The light can be operated with an on/off switch on the supply line. LED retrofit or compact fluorescent lamps can be used as light sources.
