Description
The Catellani & Smith Macchina della Luce mod. A is a pendant lamp with four superimposed discs. The discs have different sizes and are fitted at max. 145 cm long rods, which can be shortened if necessary. The top disc is slightly curved inwards and has a diameter of 80 cm, the light sources are located in the lower discs and so illuminate the top disc, creating interesting light and shadow. The second highest disc has a diameter of 50 cm, the second lowest has 30 cm and the bottom disc 18 cm.
The discs of Macchina della Luce mod. A are made of aluminum and either covered with gold leaf, copper or silver leaf. In the two variants in copper and gold leaf the rods are made of brass, in the version with silver leaf discs, the rods are nickel-plated. As illuminants, LEDs are included. The LED boards have totally a power of 7 x 6 watts. The LEDs can be dimmed on site.
